• The Simpsons is the U.S. animated sitcom created by Matt Groening for the FOX. The series is a satirical parody of the lifestyle of the middle class in the United States, symbolized by the family of the same name, which consists of Homer Jay Simpson, Marjorie "Marge" (Bouvier) Simpson, Bartholomew "Bart" Simpson, Elisabeth "Lisa" Marie Simpson and Margaret "Maggie" Simpson. The series takes place in the city of Springfield, and lampoons the culture and society the U.S., television and various aspects of the human condition.

• It became part of Mexico, in 1821, after its independence from Spain. In 1848, at the end of the Mexican-American War, Los Angeles and the rest of California were purchased as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, becoming part of the United States.

• California is the largest producer of wine of any state in the USA. Each year it produces many millions of litters of good quality table wines and an increasingly large volume of high quality vintage wines.

The Golden State

My 2nd from the West! This one is from California:

Although this state is known as the Golden one, the sender told me that, at the time she wrote, it was really cold due to a strange cold front. Probably was going to snow in her zone, which would be a never before seen event.

Curiosity about USA:

•  Agriculture has a strong presence here. Highlight for plantations of strawberry, grape, cotton, onions, oranges, rice, lettuce, tomato and livestock. It is possible to see that when is go in the freeway.
