Package w/ Souvenir from JAPAN!!!






Thank you so much for this amazing surprise Futabako! ;)
On top you can see the original "envelope" and the stamps. Then, inside another small package (3rd picture), there was a origami; stickers; small cards and Japanese manga bookmarks!
On the last, a letter from the sender :)

  •  Mobile phones in Japan have a credit service that allows you to pay bills and buy a soda from vending machines scattered around every corner.

More Maiko Girls!!!



Curiosity about Japan:
  • Kids, on  New Year's Eve and Children's Day, get as present money in envelopes. Grandparents and other relatives usually give them three bills from 1.000 yen(around 11 us dollars) to 10.000yen(around 110 us dollars).

Himeji Castle


Curiosity about Japan:
  • Did you know that in Japan there is a keyhole shaped tomb? This tomb was built for the legendary Emperor Nintoku, around the year 400. It has almost 500 meters long and is surrounded by three ditches of water.

Torii from Japan!

  • A Torii is a traditional Japanese gate most commonly found at the entrance of or within a Shinto shrine, where it symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred.

Beautiful Himeji Castle!

In the beginning of this week I received this amazing postcard:


 In the postcard the elegant and sophisticated Himeji Castle framed by cherry blossoms.


Curiosity about Japan:
  •   Himeji Castle is the largest and most visited castle in Japan, and it was registered in 1993 as one of the first UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country.

Maiko Girl

This time a postcard arrived from Japan and it's this:





This postcard show a Maiko-Girl and it was choose 16 times (so far) as a favorite.
The sender also put a sticker with a Maiko Girl:




Curiosity about Japan:

The sender told me that Maikos are aged 15 to 20 and have to learn how to dance, play Shamisen and Kyo-Kotoba (Kyoto dialect).
